Tasks of the Statistical Office in Poznań - machine-readable text
The Statistical Office in Poznań belongs to the public statistics services subordinate to the President of the Central Statistical Office and operates on the basis of:
- the Act on Public Statistics of 29 June 1995 (Journal of Laws No. 88, item 439, as amended),
- the Statute of the Statistical Office in Poznań, introduced by Ordinance No. 2 of the President of the Central Statistical Office of 2 April 2014 on the detailed scope of tasks and organization of the Statistical Office in Poznań (Official Journal of the CSO No. 14, item 14),
- the Organizational Rules and Regulations of the Statistical Office in Poznań, introduced by Internal Ordinance No. 5 of the Director of the Statistical Office in Poznań of 29 January 2015 (ref.: POZ-WO.0220.5.2015),
- the Civil Service Act of 21 November 2008 (Journal of Laws No. 227, item 1505).
In accordance with the above-mentioned documents, the main tasks of the Statistical Office in Poznań include:
- organizing and conducting statistical surveys, including censuses,
- collecting, gathering, storing, and processing data for statistical surveys conducted in accordance with the Official Statistics Survey Program,
- making available and disseminating statistical information resulting from official statistics surveys, including basic figures and indicators,
- maintaining national official registers:
- REGON - register of the national economy entities,
- TERYT - register of the territorial division of the country, concerning the area of the Wielkopolska Voivodeship,
- transforming administrative datasets into statistical datasets,
- participating in the methodological work for statistical surveys concerning the Wielkopolska Voivodship,
- identifying and analyzing the demand for statistical information and analyses at the regional/territorial levels within the Wielkopolskie Voivodship, as well as designing methods and forms of satisfying this demand,
- conducting research and analyses significant from the perspective of the voivodship's specific characteristics, including in cooperation with research and scientific institutions,
- providing information support to local government units as well as advisory and expert entities cooperating with local government,
- carrying out activities related to the popularization and promotion of statistics and the dissemination of knowledge about statistics, including conducting statistical education within the Wielkopolskie Voivodship,
- presenting statistical information concerning the area of the Wielkopolskie Voivodship to government administration bodies, local government units, and other recipients,
- cooperating with government administration bodies and local government units in Wielkopolskie Voivodship maintaining official registers and public administration information systems in the scope of transmitting source information to update the maintained registers and records for research purposes,
- onducting joint surveys with government or local government authorities, included in the official Official Statistics Statistical Survey Program at their request,
- implementing nationwide tasks carried out for official statistics as a whole, including:
- organizing and conducting statistical surveys and preparing studies and analyses in the field of short-term statistics,
- conducting works on the improvement of the statistical information system for cities, and in particular initiating surveys, developing methodology, and coordinating activities in the field of big city statistics,
- conducting works on the application of small area statistics methods for the needs of official statistics, and in particular local statistics,
- conducting works in the field of designing, populating, and administering the macroeconomic database,
- conducting works in the area of administering and maintaining the development policy monitoring system.
