The task of the Organizational Department is to coordinate tasks related to the implementation of the official statistics survey programme, organize censuses and large-scale statistical surveys, as well as to coordinate matters arising from the cooperation between individual organizational units, and the Office's cooperation with government and local government administration bodies, as well as other institutions and organizations.

The Registry Department is responsible for maintaining the national official registers of economic entities (REGON) and the territorial division of the country (TERYT), as well as participating in the creation, maintenance, and administration of databases.

The task of the Survey Research Department is to organize and conduct statistical surveys carried out with the participation of interviewers and agricultural experts in households, retail establishments, service points, marketplaces, and farms.

The task of the Short-term Statistics Centre is to organise and conduct statistical surveys and to prepare studies and analyses in the field of Short-term Statistics (STS).
STS surveys carried out at the Centre in accordance with its specialisation are conducted on the following forms:
- Report on economic activity DG-1,
- Annex to the DG-1 report for construction enterprises,
- Report on producer prices of products and services C-01,
- Report on producer prices of construction and assembly works C-01b.
The Short-Term Statistics Centre performs these tasks together with its Branches in Kalisz, Konin, Leszno, and Piła.
The Centre operates divided into two departments:
- Methodology and Programming Department,
- Survey Implementation Department.
Urban Statistics Centre

The task of the Centre for City Statistics (OSM) is to carry out work on the development of an urban statistics system, in particular by initiating surveys, developing methodology, and coordinating activities related to large cities. The Centre identifies the actual and potential demand for information on cities, determines the extent of information coverage in public statistics sources, and explores the possibilities of using other sources to supplement the information resources on cities. An important task of the Centre is to formulate new methodological proposals for the statistical observation of cities and to conduct methodological work related to the delimitation and statistical surveying of areas that do not align with the country's administrative division. The Centre utilizes spatial econometrics tools in statistical research on:
- intra-urban disparities,
- income stratification,
- demographic aging,
- mobility.
The Centre for City Statistics (OSM) cooperates with the Association of Polish Cities, associations of municipalities, scientific institutions, and organizations involved in urban monitoring (EUROSTAT).
Small Area Statistics Centre

The Centre is engaged in the development of small area estimation methodology. The ongoing work aligns with the latest trend in statistical research, incorporating topics such as:
- calibration,
- benchmarking,
- statistical data integration,
- indirect estimation utilizing spatial dependencies.
The Centre's staff also conduct regular training courses on statistical methods using the R software environment.

The Centre utilizes and implements new technologies and data sources, in particular with regard to conducting analyses and introducing modern methods and tools for processing structured and unstructured data sources. The Centre prepares studies and analyses in the field of:
- big data,
- modern project management methods (with a focus on Agile methods),
- the implementation of open solutions (linked open data, open source).
The Centre's tasks also include carrying out work related to the design, feeding, and administration of the Macroeconomic Database.
Population Studies Methodology Center

The Centre's task is to initiate and carry out methodological work and statistical surveys in the field of:
- families,
- foreigners,
- other hard-to-survey populations,
- unexamined phenomena and processes in the areas of demography and mobility.
The Centre utilises and develops data integration methods to build thematic databases, and also develops methods for determining population size and length of stay based on integrated data (inter alia, capture-recapture methods).
Centre for Regional Studies of Wielkopolska

The task of the Statistical Office in Poznań Centre for Regional Studies of Wielkopolska is to identify the demand for statistical information, provide access to, disseminate and popularize the results of statistical surveys of official statistics, create publications presenting the results of statistical descriptions of social and economic processes, as well as conduct thematic and interdisciplinary statistical analyses. The tasks of the Centre also include providing information services to local government units, popularizing official statistics among pupils and students, cooperating with research and development centers, and promoting national censuses.
